FIC, 00:09:23A patient participates in psychiatric experiments under the effects of an implant. Following the doctor’s instructions (which are exactly equivalent to the long title of the film), she describes a dream where every time known people appear something in them has changed, raising doubts as to whether those people really are who she knows or impostors pretending to be them. The premise, based on a nightmare of the filmmaker himself, originates a work that more than telling a story, gives a visual form to an emotional state and creates several environments. In this aspect, Brandon Cronenberg unfolds, through sounds and images, a dazzling and monstrous experience that does not leave the viewer indifferent. Between science fiction, horror and experimental cinema, in just nine minutes, there is an exuberance of ideas about cinema and the demonstration of an unique visual sense, where part of the fascination comes from the decidedly retro style of the image and the special effects. This is the debut of the filmmaker, author of the feature film “Antiviral”, in Curtas. (MD)
