One morning, a teenager named Nanni wakes up with a start and finds he has a flower in the place of his nose. In a panic he goes out to the street, trying to hide his deformity, but realises that there are others living similar situations, among them the sweet and mysterious Alouette, who as a flower in the place of her genitals. Using surrealist tones, Julie Colly's “L’autre Sur Ma Tête” is a sensitive and clever allegory about the intolerance and misunderstanding that people who are discriminated have to endure, but also a bitter critic to Western bourgeois society's morals over female sexuality. Produced by the renowned La Fémis, where Julie Colly studies, “L’autre Sur Ma Tête” is this young director's new and promising short film, who makes her debut at Curtas Vila do Conde. (PC)
