MOVEMENTSMOVEMENTSDahee Jeong, 2019 Korea,
ANI, 00:10:15The passage of time and its different forms in the own and personal times of each man, animal and plant. In “Movements”, the South Korean director Dahee Jeong presents an animated film that takes us to a new perspective, declaring its purpose from the start, by presenting the initial plan turned inside out. Growing, walking, running, growing old. Alone, in their own movements, but always in the same plane, at the same time, on the same planet. Organised in chapters, this animation unlocks the movements and its various speeds, from the slower evolution of the tree to the speed of movement of a dog. Throughout this fascinating record, the plans/frames merge into new images and new chapters, in an exercise of reflection on the perception of movement and time, distancing itself from an absolute and universal perspective, emphasising the unique perspective of each character instead.
