The first and the last picture: the fire of the lighthouse. Light, which awakens the cinema for life. Using a shameless modern camera and montage technique, Oliveira constructs images of life and work next to the river in Porto. But the almost abstract structures (bridges, reflections, boats) are more important than documentary narration.
