Film submissions are now open for the 34th Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival, taking place from July 17th to 26th, 2026.

Submission Deadline: April 30th, 2026

OSCAR® Qualifying Film Festival
Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival is an OSCAR® Qualifying Film Festival. The Grand Prix of the International Competition and the Best Film Award of the National Competition are eligible for consideration in the Best Animated Short Film / Best Live Action Short Film categories of the Academy Awards®.

Curtas Vila do Conde Nominee for the European Film Awards
One of the awarded films selected by the jury will be chosen as the festival’s nominee for the European Film Awards in the short film category, organised annually by the European Film Academy.
