On July 23rd at 11:15 pm, Mão Morta Redux — featuring Adolfo Luxúria Canibal, António Rafael, and Miguel Pedro — will present a cine-concert with an original score, created for a programme dedicated to the animated films of Pedro Serrazina. The session includes, not only an extended version of Tale About The Cat And The Moon (1995), but also the original versions of The Eyes Of The Lighthouse (2010), and Shadows of Ourselves (2025), combining live music with animation.

Formed in 1984, Mão Morta are one of the most influential bands in Portuguese rock, known for their distinctive artistic identity. In this Redux format — returning to the band’s original trio structure — they propose an intense and stripped-down approach, creating a new sonic interpretation for these films.

On July 24th, the Vila do Conde Municipal Theatre will host the premiere of the cine-concert, performed by Alabaster DePlume, the London-based musician and composer whose work occupies a unique space in contemporary music. For this show, DePlume has created an original score, arranged for quintet, to accompany the screening of Time of the Heathen (1961), directed by Peter Kass, now in a newly restored 4K version.

A saxophonist, singer, composer, and poet, Alabaster DePlume is known for blending warm, meditative soundscapes with a strong social and political awareness. This cine-concert is co-produced with the Videodroom series (Kunstencentrum VIERNULVIER and the Ghent Film Fest Gent).

With these first confirmations, the Stereo section once again positions itself as a key platform for the intersection of film and live music, offering immersive experiences that expand the boundaries of cinematic presentation.
