The preview of Carla Simón's most recent feature film is the starting signal for another edition of the festival. The opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 9, at 9:15 p.m., at Vila do Conde Municipal Theatre, and will be marked by a solemn reception for guests and the public.

Awarded with the Golden Bear at the Berlinale, Alcarrás is the extension of a body of work that uses the family as a microcosm of society and reflects on the position of women in this universe, following the social, economic and climatic contradictions that occupy the affective space of a family from a village in Catalonia.
