Films like "E do Mar Nasceu", shot in Caxinas in the 70's; "Um dia na Póvoa do Varzim", with a touristic content and in the middle of the New State; or "O Naufrágio do Veronese", about the transatlantic liner that sank in these seas, will be presented in July 9th, first day of Curtas Vila do Conde. Three silent films will be accompanied on the piano by musician João Paulo Esteves da Silva.

Instituted in 2020, the FILMAR project aims to recover and make available moving images, currently inactive, in the vaults of the Cinemateca Portuguesa, in various analogue formats. The session organized for this edition of Curtas gathers a set of historically invisible films, which intend to value the historical cultures related to the sea in the coastal area near Vila do Conde.
