Curtas Vila do Conde Productions in Festivals
2012 was a celebration year with the twentieth anniversary of Curtas Vila do Conde and the ambitious Campus / Estaleiro programme. In total, were premiered in 20th Curtas Vila do Conde 8 productions. These are films that are now beginning to make an important international circuit. After the tribute held in the Locarno Film Festival in August, there is now the Rio Festival in Brazil, which will pay homage to the festival, screening the eight productions. Also, several of these productions will be screened at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma de Montréal (Canada) and DocLisboa, among other festivals.
The four productions made for the 20 Years of the Festival are: "Miracle of Saint Anthony", by Sergei Loznitsa, "Reconversion", by Thom Andersen, "The Song of Nightingale", by Helvécio Marins Jr., and "Land of My Dreams", by Yann Gonzalez. The four Campus/Estaleiro productions are: "Obligation", by João Canijo; "A River Called Bird", by Luís Alves de Matos; "The Road as a Street", by Graça Castanheira; "Ashes, a Fire Essay", by Pedro Flores.

- Vancouver International Film Festival, Canada: "Reconversion", in Panorama.
- Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Switzerland: "Land of My Dreams", in competition.
- BFI London Film Festival: "Reconversion", in panorama.
- Taiwan Int. Documentary Festival: "Miracle of Saint Anthony", in panorama.
The film "Reconversion" will also be screened in the cycle "Cinema e Arquitetura", in Guimarães (16th October).
