July 19 : Highlights of the Day
Experimentation is the word of the day. On July 19, Curtas presents a session programmed by Gonzalo de Pedro Amatria (within the New Spain exhibition), a seminal short by François Ozon and a show by Moor Mother and Jonathan Uliel Saldanha.
For today, Curtas presents the second session of the program "Many Symbols and No Meaning", curated by Gonzalo de Pedro Amatria (within the scope of the exhibition New Spain). The session, held at 11:30 p.m., brings together a number of very special and out-of-place films, bold and unique choices of Amatria that escape the hegemonic discourses of industrial productions.

Minutes earlier, North American artist Moor Mother takes to the stage along with Jonathan Uliel Saldanha (HHY & The Macumbas) to present an unprecedented show, created from the afro-futuristic aesthetic of Sun Ra and an artistic residence in Vila do Conde . The visual part will be in charge of the directors André Tentugal and Vasco Mendes.

At the end of the afternoon, the festival features a very special session of the Parisian school La Fémis: here you can find one of the first films by François Ozon, the short film "Victor", in the Municipal Auditorium of Vila do Conde.
