At the end of every weekend, Portuguese metalworkers head to Central European countries to carry out factory maintenance. Pedro is a young man travelling for the first time in one of the vans bound for France, accompanied by four older, more experienced colleagues. At the factory, amid hard labour and fatigue, he catches sight of the Alps and dreams of another destiny, but work always calls him back.
