In the mid-1980s and in the middle of summer, "Rui Carlos" tells the story of a group of young boys who enjoy their free time in their neighbourhood between football matches and the games they play at a young age. Within the group, joy and excitement go hand in hand, especially in the fierce competition of the street football tournaments, but everything is put into perspective when the precious ball gets punctured and Rui Carlos, left alone, has to confront the problem of adulthood, the responsibility for mistakes.
