A group of friends from upper-class families of New York meet almost every night at an apartment in Manhattan, talking about social mobility, playing bridge and discussing Fourier's socialism. One day they are joined by a radical student, with a critical view of their way of life, which will serve as a catalyst to alter all of their lives.
