In one of the many deserted islandes of an immense salted laggon zone, there lives a family whose head is a worker in the salt beds and also the owner of one. His only grandson, Armando, is studying music in France and maques his newscarse. The grandfather, Abílio, who is always willing to 'play tricks', manages to convice the rest of the family members to co-operate, though against their will.
