Images of a small Venetian butchers and barber shops crowded with people alternate with enigmatic portraits of individuals going about their daily tasks apparently unaware that they are being observed. One of Greenaway's very earliest films, 'Intervals' is set in Venice and shot there during the first few days of 1969. It is a thought-provoking montage of street images shot in black and withe.
