A concept that has intrigued Baillie for some time now (is) that of the 'postcard film', a simple work that can communicate directly and without embellishment from one human being (or group) to another human being (or group). Of this earlier works, the beautiful and simple 'All My Life' is probably the closest to this aesthetic. A short piece (3 minutes), the totality of which is one long plan along a rose-covered fence accompanied by an Ella Fitzgerald recording, the film is a perfect tittle jewel. It is full and rich within itself, with no need to be cut or polished.
