Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has become a kind of living legend throughout the world. For Pakistan he's the man who has spread Qawwali, traditional Muslim music used to propagate the world of Islam, on the international scene renewing and simplifying its melody so that it has become a much coveted product for the western market. In this film-interview the Pakistani musician tells of the years he spend training alongside his father, musician, singer, professor and researcher, the musical turning point which brought him to combine Qawwali with folk music making it catchier, up to the enormous success achieved throughout the world and confirmed by his joint collaborations on Hollywood film soundtracks (The Last Temptation of Christ with Peter Gabriel, Bandit Queen, Natural Born Killers and Dead Man Walking).
