Biographical film about Cuban documentary filmmaker Santiago Alvarez, who is better known in Cuba as Now. From interviews with Alvarez and with people who know him the image emerges of a socially commited and passionate man. The interviews are interspersed with fragments from Alvarez' films. The Cuban director devoted his life and work to the propagation of revolutionary ideals.
