A Hollywood actress, obsessed with youth and fame, is courted by Baxter, an endocrinologist. She leaves him for a younger, handsome tennis player. As a wedding present, Baxter gives them a solution that he says will preserve their youth, but there is only one dose. Each offers the dose to the other, when they ostensibly decide not to take it, each drinks the solution secretly, filling up the vial with water afterwards. Then they start watching for sings of age in each other, but Baxter and we know the vial was filled with salt water in the first place.
