A Saturday in October a young man gets a reprimand by the deputy landlord of his building when he on his mother's behalf complains about a dripping water-pipe in their appartemente. In a clothes-shop he tries on an overcoat. He meets with his fiancée at her work where he gets humiliated by her fellow-worker. Later on, the young couple go on a daytrip to a summer cottage where they help some friends up after the season. In the evening the two of them return home with a plastic bag filled with apples.
