Conserva Acabada is probably the most mythical short film made by João César Monteiro. It was co-produced by Secretaria de Estado da Cultura and RTP for a series entitled Clips about Fernando Pessoa. Naturally it became one of his most secret fictions. As far as I know, it has never been seen outside the closest circle of friends of the director and of the co-producers. As a matter of fact it is not even mentioned in the many filmographies that have been published here and there. The author says facing the viewer: 'Eu sou o João Raposão do audiovisual'' (I am the Big Bad Wolf of audio-visual). This overture is recited with unusual irony, impossible to reproduce just with words, it defines very well the spirit in which João César Monteiro took this caustic approach to the production methods placed midway between cinema and audio-visual in Portugal.
