In the ruined and chaotic streets of a decadent metropolis, masked children participate in "Kakurenbo", a forbidden game of hide-and-seek with frightening creatures by the names of "Child Taker", "Blood Taker" or "Spirit Taker". Two of the boys are in search of their sister who disappeared during a previous game. They will discover a terrible link between the game and the city's power supply.
