Every year millions of tourists come to Portugal to discover the country, the people and the culture. A great number of them come in contact with several tour guides whose mission is to lead them in this exploit. These guides convey history and national identity. The way they tell this story by making use of data and knowledge from a variety of sources illustrates, first and foremost, how we regard ourselves and how we wish to present ourselves to others.
