“...A confuse and indistinctive landscape” is the 4-channel video installation from a German propaganda film regarding Crete's invasion in May, 1941. I found this 8mm film in a photographic thrift shop in Berlin, in 2008. Due to its format, I originally thought it could have been sold to a general public during the war, but I was told by a cinema historian this kind of films were used by the army to indoctrinate new recruits. In this installation, the original film was dismantled, fragmented e remounted into four lost in time sequences with the purpose of frustrating their ideological sense.
