“Luxo” was the second track to present “Dois”, the second album from the artist Batida, released once more on Soundway Records, and the video is the result of the collaboration with Kruella D’Enfer, a Portuguese illustrator. Having collaborated with artists from 3 different countries in this particular track, making a video from illustrations, was the way that Pedro Coquenão found to represent them, through the lyrics and instruments, as well as representing the Ngomas and the Dikanza, Angolan tradicional instruments that he uses on this track. “A “lyrics video”, seemed to me the best way to illustrate a track where the lyrics can easily be misunderstood, and an opportunity to answer the challenge that Kruela made me two years ago.” Pedro Coquenão. English, Portuguese, Kikongo and Zulu, are the languages that we can listen on “Luxo”, a track that talks about the aspirated but not so inspired lives. It mixes a pop chorus, with some sarcastic lyrics from Spoek Mathambo and Sacerdote, Angolan percussions and the guitar of Duncan Lloyd, author in his own name and an element from Maximo Park.
