This is the story of Omar. It is the story of Ely Dagher, a young Lebanese filmmaker who, just like Omar, was born and grew up in Beirut. And this is a visual and poetic essay dedicated to a lost city. Post-war Beirut, in the mid-90s, a city being slowly rebuilt, silencing deep wounds. Omar lives in the outskirts of a segregated city and he observes from afar, from the top of the building where he lives, the wreckage and ruins of the place, and the vehicles and lives that mutely continue progressing. At home, the television reels off the monotony of days. Tired of looking at a city that he recognises less and less, isolated and outraged at the lack of resources and motivation, Omar looks into the horizon in search of a way out until one day he is introduced to a new world in the depths of the city.
