In “Notre Héritage”, Jonathan Vinel and Caroline Poggi revisit the child in conflict with the father complex. Lucas has ambivalent feelings towards his father, Pierre Woodman, a famous director of pornographic films. However, this team put their own personal stamp on the story, combining montage of porn videos and a computer games aesthetic with idyllic shots of suburban adolescent love. For the audience, the father is unreal, represented only by excerpts from porn films in which various women are abused. Lucas watches these, sitting on a sofa in a luxury house in the suburbs, with a strange combination of desolation and desire to find true love in the form of a fragile, angelic girl. This latest film by the two directors will be presented at the Festival as a follow-up to the screening of “Tant Qu’il Nous Reste Des Fusils À Pompe” in 2014. (SG)
