From the editing of archive footage, “Confidente” traces its narrative using methods of deconstruction from experimental cinema and associations of ideas close to surrealism. An obsessive repetition of sounds and images is used to sketch out a psychological portrait of a man, in brief notes associated with past events. Miguel Seabra Lopes and Karen Akerman have jointly developed their most recent projects between Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon, this being their third joint venture. Curtas Vila do Conde screened some of Miguel Seabra Lopes' first films in competition: “Porque é que eu não disse nada?” (1999), “À Deriva” (2001) and “Perímetro”, which won the award for Best Picture in 2006.
