Celebrating the love for the cinema through the use of 35 mm film and resorting to mentions of genre films, like horror or surrealist films, Yann Gonzalez – a filmmaker and cinephile – propel us to immerse in a dream, maybe a nightmare, in which characters seem to be compelled only by desire. The rotation between perception shots takes the viewer into a universe of erotic and sexual ghosts immediately attracted from the start by the intensity of a sex scene suddenly interrupted by a monster which – surprisingly – was contrived by Bertrand Mandico (best director at Curtas Vila do Conde – with "Boro in a Box" – in 2011). A labyrinth of connections that intertwine at an unconscious level becomes a free territory where all notions of masculinity and femininity come together. Winner of the prize for Best European Shortcut for a first work – "By the Kiss" (2006) – and guest director for one of the in-house productions that celebrated the 20th anniversary of the festival, "Land of My Dreams" (2012), Yann Gonzalez is one of the authors whose career path has been closely followed by Curtas Vila do Conde from the start.
