It might be an overambitious purpose: building a huge skyscraper, that can withstand a nuclear attack, at 33 Thomas Street in downtown Manhattan, New York. Twenty-nine floors with no windows, with three underground levels and enough food to feed 1.500 people for two weeks, in the event of a disaster and this is what happened in 1974! However, the main purpose of the building wouldn’t be to protect New Yorkers from the radiation from a nuclear attack, but rather to safeguard the computers that manage the largest long-distance telephone calls processing centre from the New York Telephone Company, currently an espionage centre from the NSA (the National Security Agency of the USA). Directed by Laura Poitras, journalist and filmmaker, winner of an Oscar ("Citizenfour"), and Henrik Moltke, award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker who works with Poitras since 2013. "Project X" is an essay film based in three sources (a travel guide instruction manual, an engineering report and an internal e-mail) to describe an imaginary journey of an NSA worker from the headquarters in Maryland to the New York building.
