A sensory experience besides the most common expectations of the film audience, this work is composed of sequences of abstract and fluid images in pure colours, in absolute saturation, which result from optical experiments on the refraction of light. The title suggests the adaptation of vision to the darkness, the fact that the eyes gradually become more sensitive to the slightest amount of light. Thus, it also suggests an inner epic sense journey, as if the images could have been generated by each viewer when he/she closes the eyes. It is a further development of the experimental cinema chain initiated and developed by Jordan Belson (1926-2011), whose films approached the moving image as visual music. Taking advantage of everyday life objects, mainly made of glass or other transparent materials, Gehman produces amazing sequences of animated images that are underlined by the musical landscapes composed by Graham Stewart.
