On his third feature film, FJ Ossang proposes a road trip set in the desert landscapes of Chile, between the aesthetics of science fiction and the codes of film noir (here in color, in his first color film, but always dark, nocturnal and claustrophobic). It is, therefore, a more "classic" film than the previous ones, which tends toward the domestication of the most violent impulses (visual and audio) that characterizes most of Ossang's work. Delusion and paranoia are the main subjects of a permanent vertigo, starting from a poem by Georg Trakl (1887-1914), a leading name of Austrian literary expressionism who died at the age of 27, and prolongs a sense of uprooting or deterritorialization. Among the cast is the iconic face of Portuguese actor Pedro Hestnes, who, after having a minor presence in an earlier film ("Le trésor des Îles Chiennes"), plays a leading role that fits perfectly into the sense of emptiness that the narrative seeks.
