The first images of "Ciel eteint!" that provoke a strong impression on the spectator - a wind-driven sea traveling, and a pair of lovers intertwined in bed while it rains in the bedroom - have a lasting charm effect that is felt throughout the film. This is a methodical composition of a mysterious environment, in which time unfolds its own rhythm, and that takes us on a fable of images that follow each other as illustrations of states of mind: apathy, seduction, hopelessness, paranoia. In this film Ossang accompanies an existential dance between two characters who occupy permanently the same common space, as if they were strangers to the world around them, as if they belonged nowhere. These two hover the film as a pair of ghosts in purgatory, encircled, their words resemble dying delusions. (JA)
