Samuel is a Portuguese musician emigrated in Berlin. He comes to Portugal to perform at a concert and stays at Teresa´s house, the mother of his partner. Between them a mutual admiration arises, a kind of subtle desire, boosted by time they spend together. The film unfolds in a slow rhythm, showing how the characters are at a decisive moment of their lives: Teresa is being persuaded to go on a cruise to "find someone", Samuel is almost thirty-five, a limit age for understanding whether or not he can live on music. This gray tone is marked by the melancholy music that Samuel plays, but also by the dialogues, which accentuate certain sadness by the need to "make a living" and to forget about the dreams. This is the debut of director Mónica Lima at Curtas Vila do Conde. (DR)
