We follow a child as he discovers the forest. Along the way, shapes and colours repeat and juxtapose, creating several layers: a body walking, a face and two hands appearing among the vegetation widening this place's magic, which is inhabited by different living beings who grow and move in an almost imperceptible way. An audiovisual exploration, which is also silent, that conjures all senses through the gaze. With “Wishing Well”, Sylvia Schedelbauer's work will be exhibited for the first time at Curtas Vila do Conde. The artist, born in Tokyo and currently living in Berlin, has been showing her work in several international film festivals. Her films are rewriting the use of found-footage, by resorting to found materials and archive images, creating poetic manipulations of the world and its steady stream that lie between historical narrative and the realm of personal and psychological experience.
