When Federico finds in the fridge the potato knishes (typical Jewish dish) his recently deceased grandmother had given him, everything changes in his relationship with his girlfriend. Condensed version of a certain Argentinean society where religion, psychology, food and a healthy dose of humour are mixed, “Shakti” marks the return of the director Rejtman to short film several years later, claiming that the “the seeming lack of ambition” of a short works as “a healthy antidote to the endless chapters and sequels” that spread throughout today's filmmaking. A newcomer in Curtas's competition, he's however one of Argentina's contemporary film most notable directors, having directed his first feature in 1992.
