“Yes, she was cute”. These are the fateful words that Candi, a young man in a relationship with Lila, uses to describe to his girlfriend a girl with whom he had a minor incident which damaged his bike's padlock. When a happy routine settles between the couple, slightly different gestures gain disproportionate importance, and the fact that Lila seems dissatisfied with her job doesn't help – being a filmmaker, she works from home. As a deadline comes closer, she faces a creative deadlock and spends her days procrastinating. One night, Lila leaves the house to go look for something, not really knowing what. A sweet comedy, revolving around subtle situations and remorseful encounters, this is also a film about different point of views, projected expectations and things left to say. However, as the film puts it, tomorrow is another day. “Bicicletas” is Argentinean director Cecilia Kang's debut at Curtas. (JA)
