One evening, the encounter between a man with a small head on a large body and a woman with a big head on a small body helps them overcome their fears and accept their “flaws” as unique sensibilities. After her promising debut at Curtas with “Drop by Drop” (2017), codirected with Laura Gonçalves, Alexandra Ramires (Xá) returns to Vila do Conde with “Tie”, a poetic and melancholic journey about fear and discovery, written with the creative collaboration of Regina Guimarães. With no dialogue, the narrative is mainly built on the pulsating and vibrant visual elements of Alexandra Ramires’ animated engraving technique, as well as on Nicolas Tricot’s (original score) and Jérôme Petit’s (sound design) immersive and emotional sound ambiences, which create a work as simple as it is sensitive and human, a real ode to solidarity and tolerance.
