Is it possible to condense the entire history of humanity in just one minute? Based on a “freak show” “mise-en-scène”, and on the inspiring collages made popular by Terry Gilliam on the iconic Monty Python’s “Flying Circus”, Maria Clara Norbachs and Marisa Alves Pedro built this kind of time capsule for the future, where ominous figures such as Jair Bolsonaro or Donald Trump insist on perpetuating surrealist narratives of people manipulation, with help from the no less ominous social networks. “One Minute Show Time” uses magazine and book clippings, with iconic images from the recent past, to create, in a sequence of mini-sketches, a narrative as entertaining as it is fatalistic.
