When Anna and Ian Golovin try to find ways to deal with their father’s death, we are faced with two different forms of grief. While Anna is visibly affected by her loss, Ian is taken over by a sense of freedom, becoming ready to skip town, leaving behind those he knows for somewhere new, while looking for a new life and a new identity. When confronted by his sister’s roommate, Masha, about his way of grieving, Ian enters a reflective and thoughtful state, starting to question his decisions. Canadian filmmaker Mathieu Grimard presents a reflection on the different kinds of mourning one may face and deal with, exposing the many possible ways of thinking and reacting to a specific situation.
