The project “Lugares que no existen. Goggle Earth 1.0” (Places that do not exist. Google Earth 1.0) consists of a series of photos and films from places that don’t appear on Google Earth, where the artist and his team travel to document their true appearance and display it in an installation that contrasts with the false vision we can get from the computer. Military grounds, training camps, government buildings, natural parks where speculators illegally build, nude beaches... in Spain, Colombia, Ecuador, Russia, Australia... The catalogue of landscapes that Google Earth hides from us, for different reasons, is endless and often surprising. This project confronts the hyper-realistic and supposedly objective view of Google Earth, with the realistic (yet subjective) point of view of our ground-level images of those same places that, despite everything, exist. The installation displays a possible synthesis of a very extensive work.
