Shana is determined to change her life, to leave behind once and for all everything that she deems to be holding her back. She believes she has a plan and is determined to leave. This time, the faults and excuses of the past will not come in her way. In a race against time and all the shackles from which she can’t seem to completely break free, Shana just needs a part-time job, one that will allow her to save enough money to put her plan into action and finally leave. But is she really ready for this change? Does she really want to forget her past? “Le Roi David” mirrors the precariousness of the youngest and poorest who, like Shana, are desperate for real opportunities to transcend themselves.
