One day, I came across the following sentence: “If you wish to know what someone fears losing, pay attention to what they photograph”. Being alone can be something quite complicated for anyone who feels and understands the world, even if this someone is a machine. And when trying to catch a friend’s attention does not work, it’s in the recorded sounds and past memories that one can find some solace. With a lot of humor, this animation by serbian filmmaker Vojin Vasovic, making his debut at Curtas, offers an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the past. (Joana Pinto)
