A house in Geraz do Lima, in the municipality of Viana do Castelo, tells the story of a Portuguese family in the second half of the 20th century. Its interior and exterior spaces, animals and plants, keep memories of individual and collective experiences, some nostalgic, some traumatic. Debuting at Curtas, Inês Lima presents a work that highlights all the visual and sound textures of the film, but also other creative elements, such as the sound of the flute, which puts into dialogue several possibilities: the disruptive sharpness of Luís Pestana’s sound lives with the simple popular harmony captured by Fernando Lopes-Graça and Michel Giacometti. This interaction between apparently antagonistic proposals is also present in the narrative, with the spoken word refusing to coexist with the multiplicity of narrators and with the aviary theater, creative juxtapositions that refer the viewer to other imagery scenarios.
