After iconic projects such as Peste & Sida, Linha da Frente or A Naifa, Luís Varatojo is back in action with the Luta Livre project and with a voice that intends to reinvent the protest song. “Escravo do Patrão” (“Slave of the Boss”) expresses the song's political impetus, so important in the transition from dictatorship to democracy, that it seeks to draw attention to situations of injustice and social and human inequality, which fit the disturbing pandemic period we are going through. Cristina Viana's music video reinforces this political aspect by using various graphic references to the iconic murals of the revolutionary period or the ever-present posters of social demonstations, to the sound of jazz improvisation and elliptical rhythm.
