The slogans we hear being recited throughout “FP-25”, a track from Sereias’ album “País a Arder”, as if they were a declaration of war and scored by a relentless melody, find a mirror of their unrest in the archival footage of street riots that span decades and represent the song’s spirit of revolt. Filmmaker Francisco Laranjeira puts another layer on this interpretation of the track, by adding some animated touches over these protest images, highlighting some details and deconstructing others. This is Francisco Laranjeira’s third time at Curtas, after 2007’s “Fresh Frames for Rotting Generations” and 2019’s music video for “Primeiro Ministro”, also by Sereias. (JA)
