Opened in 2005, Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, marking the occasion with a number of initiatives throughout the year. Since its opening, it has been one of the venues for Curtas Vila do Conde, both in presenting exhibitions that dialogue with the festival's programme and in opening its doors to other parallel events of Curtas. It therefore makes perfect sense that Curtas should also mark these 20 years with two programming events. 

An exhibition on floors 0 and -1 of the Municipal Theatre will display some of the posters that have marked these two decades and will be open throughout the festival. In addition, a conversation on the subject will take place in the Solar bookshop on Tuesday, 15 July, at 4 pm, with the participation of artists who have marked the venue's programme. Confirmed attendees include João Tabarra, Tatiana Macedo and Christoph Girardet, the latter co-responsible (with Matthias Mueller) for the inaugural exhibition in March 2005.
